The LMT Saxophone Day is back and will be held on Saturday 8th October at Sandbach School. The day will be run by Andy Scott & Jamie Sharp (Musical Director of LMT Ensembles). Registration for the day is from 9:30am with the first session starting at 10am. At 4.15pm there will be a short informal concert that showcases what has been worked on throughout the day. Everyone who plays saxophone is welcome to attend, there is no limit on age or ability. So bring your saxophone along and enjoy learning some news skills! Click HERE for details.

A prolific composer, Andy teaches composition at the Royal Northern College of Music, and during covid lockdowns instigated and directed weekly composition group sessions online with participants joining from many different countries! Andy guests with the Wirrel-based Claremont Ensemble in concert at Claremont Farm. Led by Becky Gould the Claremont is a new ensemble, rising through the covid lockdown and giving the Wirrel its own chamber music ensemble. After four years planning, Summer 2022 sees the launch of Music Retreats, led by co-directors Jon Rebbeck & Andy Scott. The first course is 'An Introduction to Improvisation' with Andy & Jon. Andy curates ‘Jazz at Define’ for Jon Campbell. This gig features Andy with Paul Kilvington (kbd), Stan Scott (bass guitar) & Josh Savage (drums). Define is an amazing restaurant and shop in Sandiway, Cheshire. I was introduced to Define by John Davies (then Chair of Manchester Jazz Festival) who informed me that owner Jon Campbell ‘has the finest nose in the North West’.
