Foden’s Band played a work by their composer in residence Andy Scott at the Brass in Concert Championship this month.
Foden’s Band performed at the 2014 Brass in Concert Championship at The Sage, Gateshead on Sunday 16 November. The Caliph Visits Trevor by Andy Scott featured at the centre of a varied programme by Foden’s, built around arrangements of Baroque works. The concept based programme, entitled In the Court of Trevor IV and devised by the band’s Professional Conductor Allan Withington, explored the idea of Coronation era courtly and cultural exchanges in the contemporary digital age. The Brass in Concert Championship aims to provide a platform for the finest brass bands in the world to display their excellence as performers of high quality original and arranged brass band music. Foden’s Band’s principal euphonium player Glyn Williams won Best Euphonium 2014.
