Premiered at the 2004 Clarinetfest of the International Clarinet Association at the University of Maryland, Washington DC, USA, by the British Clarinet Ensemble. Scored for 12 clarinets - Eb, 6 x Bb, 2x Alto, 2xBass & Contrabass.
'Paquito' pays homage to the brilliant composer/saxophonist/clarinetist Paquito D'Rivera, a fast salsa based around a two-three clave pulse, featuring a fiery Bb clarinet notated 'solo'.
Arranged by the composer for 8 clarinets (7x Bb, 1x Bass). Premiered at Sandbach School, Cheshire, UK, by students of Sandbach & Sandbach High Schools, directed by Tracey Martin.
The arrangement for Flute & Harp was undertaken by the composer specifically for Clare Southworth & Lauren Scott, who gave the World Premiere on 1st October 2010 in St Rabier, France.
