Andy Scott’s trio Caliente will be opening the 2014-15 season of the East Riding Concert Series next month. Caliente will launch the series with a performance at Toll Gavel United Church in Beverley on 9 October at 7.30pm. The title of the event, Voyage, reflects both a historical and a geographical journey. Caliente will present a varied and enjoyable programme, rooted in classical music with jazz and folk influences, including works composed and arranged specially for the ensemble by Andy Scott. The group comprises flautist Clare Southworth, harpist Lauren Scott and Andy Scott on tenor saxophone. As well as giving regular performances, the ensemble also undertakes education projects, often linking workshops with a concert. Following the performance in Beverley, Caliente will be giving concerts in Berkhamsted, Berkshire and Cheshire.
