Following on from my Mancunity project premiere in May 2019, in August that year Caitlin & I started a new collaborative project, meeting weekly at The Yard to write. Working online during the lockdowns in 2020, we continue to meet weekly, either at The Yard or Ucan Studios.
In May 2020 we were scheduled to premiere one set of our music at Storyhouse in Chester with a 7-piece band and string section. This was postponed due to Covid-19, and whilst disappointing it does offer us more time to develop songs, form a regular band and create a band sound and identity.
We’ll be heading into the recording studio in Spring 2021 to record four tracks. Caitlin’s lyrics look into grief, mental wellbeing and loneliness, it’s raw and real. Our music has a core, a centre, that may be powerful and fragile, and that has a sense of journey.
Our debut album will follow, meanwhile we have two investors (who wish to remain anonymous) who believe in our music, and through their generosity are helping us to realise our vision. Rehearsal and recording venue hire, musician fees, and producer and engineer fees all add up, and that’s before any promotion, artwork, photos……
