As a soloist and a member of the Northern Saxophone Quartet, Tony has performed extensively throughout the UK and abroad, including recital tours of Finland and the American Mid West, the 11th Saxophone Symposium (Massachusetts, USA), and the World Saxophone Congresses in Valencia, Montreal and Minneapolis. Since 1990, he has also regularly appeared as a soloist at the British Saxophone Congresses, and has performed with the British Saxophone Ensemble and the Tribune Saxophone Octet.

He was Director of the School of Music at Wakefield College from 1995 and Head of the Arts Faculty from 1998 before becoming a freelance performer and composer in 2001.

His work seeks to combine the discipline of classical composition techniques with the energy, language and freedom of jazz. One of his media composition commissions recently received a BAFTA nomination.

As a Yamaha clinician, he has given workshops and master-classes throughout the UK and abroad, both as a soloist and with the Northern Saxophone Quartet. Tony is also a member of British National Festival Orchestra Big Band.
