Andy Scott

Andy is Tutor of Saxophone at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, UK.

In addition to his one to one lessons and Saxophone Classes, Andy & Rob Buckland (Apollo Sax Quartet colleague & Head of the RNCM Saxophone Department) instigated and organized the now annual RNCM Saxophone Day. Special guests during the last five years at this event have included Snake Davis, Claude Delangle & Bob Mintzer.

Under the direction of Andy & Rob, the RNCM Saxophone Orchestra with financial support from the RNCM has performed at the 1st European Congress for Saxophone Ensembles in Berlin as the UK’s only representative and the CASS Saxophone Congress in Cardiff as well as annually at the RNCM Saxophone Day. Works given World Premiere performances by the RNCM Saxophone Orchestra during this time include ; ‘Wavy Line’ by Joby Talbot, ‘Concerto for Bass Sax & Saxophone Orchestra’ by Barbara Thompson and Andy’s own composition ‘Big Red’.
