8th RNCM Saxophone Day
Exactly one month to go to the annual saxophone extravaganza that Rob Buckland & I organise. Special guests this year are Chris Potter, Otis Murphy & Snake Davis.
Rob & I perform a lunchtime concert in which I’ll be playing four new pieces for Tenor Saxophone & Piano that includes three World Premieres; ‘And Everything Is Still’ & ‘MHP’ by myself and ‘Ballad in Memory of Shirley Horn’ composed by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett and edited for Saxophone by myself and Richard. Playing piano is the amazing Adam Caird, we’ll also be playing his piece ‘Out of Line’ that will be released on CD in December this year. Rob is joined by his regular partners in the Equivox Trio, Peter Lawson & Simone Rebello. Check out the latest Equivox CD via www.robbuckland.com.
