Andy Scott heads to Austria for big brass event

Andy Scott leaves Cheshire on 25 June for a few days in Linz, Austria, where the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference (ITEC) will be taking place. Organised by the International Tuba and Euphonium Association, ITEC is the leading annual showcase for the world’s greatest tuba and euphonium players, with a packed programme of solo and ensemble performances.
Andy is a popular composer in the brass world and several internationally renowned musicians have chosen to perform his works at this prestigious event, including several world premieres. Leading tuba player Les Neish will give a programme consisting entirely of works by Andy, including My Mountain Top and the tuba premieres of Salt of the Earth Finale, Eighteen and Deep Blue, plus a special surprise item!
Belgian euphonium star Glenn Van Looy will perform Andy’s Concerto for Euphonium The Lure of the Red Jacket with James Madison University Brass Band conducted by Kevin Stees. High profile baritone soloist Katrina Marzella will give the first performance outside the UK of Film, and inaugural winner of the Foden’s Band Competition euphonium player Aaron Rivkin will premiere Let There Be Peace.
