New Publications at Astute Music

In 2010 Astute Music will be publishing a new series of latest compositions by Andy Scott, including works for brass band as recorded by Foden's on the World of Brass CD release 'A World Within' (4th September launch at the British Open at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.)

This is in addition to 'Salt of the Earth' which continues to receive performances worldwide from Les Neish. Watch out for a Wind Band version of SOTE later in 2010!

Andy is working on new versions of his two saxophone Concerto 'Dark Rain' - symphony orchestra, wind band, and military band (in conjunction with Jos Dobbelstein in Holland). There is also a piano reduction part now available for rehearsal purposes.

Soon to be published are;

'Three Letter Word' - Park Lane Group commission for alto saxophone and piano, premiered at the Southbank Centre in January 2010. There will also be a flute version of 3LW later this year.

'Tjuonavagge' - two solo alto saxophones and sax orchestra, commissioned by Selmer Paris and premiered by Vincent David, Carl Raven and the RNCM saxes in November 2009.

'Seven Dances & No Looking Back' - commissioned and recorded by the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, Chandos CD release on 30th June 2010.

'And Everything Is Still' - arranged for tenor horn and piano for Lesley Howie.

'Going Down' - a 'live' version specially arranged for Jim Gourlay to Premiere in USA in April, scored for euphoniums, baritones, tubas and percussion, with solo tuba.

In addition to what are all demanding pieces to play, Astute Music continues to publish a vast array of music for less experienced musicians, many of which are featured by the ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall, and used by an increasing number of teachers.

Please regularly check the Astute Music web site as new works are constantly being added to the catalogue.
