Jenny Lyons

Jenny Lyons was born in Manchester in 1981. She studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Andy Scott and Rob Buckland, gaining a BMus(Hons) and the college's Professional Performance diploma.

As the tenor saxophonist with the Veya Saxophone Quartet, Jenny has performed at many of the major concert venues and festivals across the country. This year the quartet performed John Casken's Nearly Distant live for BBC radio 3 from London's Victoria and Albert museum.

Future performances include the UK premiere of Nicholas Flagello's Concerto Sinfonico for saxophone quartet and orchestra, a recital at the Church of St. Martin in the Fields, London, a 'young concert artists' series recital at the Royal Northern College of Music, and a recital at Rotherham Arts Festival.

Jenny works as a freelance musician and woodwind teacher in Manchester and also gives workshops and concerts for the Live Music Now! scheme.
