In the Moment
Andy Scott was involved in a groundbreaking collaborative project with conductor Nicholas Kok and the Lancashire Sinfonietta over a three year period from 2008 to 2011, in which Andy was commissioned to write an hour of music for strings, rhythm section and solo saxophone, entitled In the Moment. During the three years of the project Andy worked closely with Nicholas Kok and the orchestra on the creation of the new work. This initiative provided a rare opportunity for a composer to try out material and develop ideas over an extended period, culminating in a complete concert programme of commissioned original compositions. The collaboration and development of the new work will be featured in a television documentary to be broadcast in 2012.
