Clare Southworth (flute), Lauren Scott (harp), Andy Scott (saxophone)
Caliente was formed in 2011 and showcases Andy Scott’s work as both composer and performer. A unique trio with a line up of flute, tenor saxophone and harp, the ensemble’s repertoire spans four centuries and many genres. A typical concert programme features arrangements of pieces by Bach, Ravel and Piazzolla as well as original works by Andy, composed specifically for the group. The music is tuneful and enjoyable to listen to, with a mix of classical, jazz and folk music elements.
All three musicians are experienced teachers, (Royal Academy of Music, Royal Northern College of Music), as well as performers, and can offer educational workshops linked to a performance, including music from The Bad Tempered Flute CD.
Clare Southworth is a highly successful prizewinning performer, teacher and author, internationally acclaimed as one of the leading flautists of her generation.
