Aquarelle Guitar Quartet
Earlier this year the Manchester-based Aquarelle Guitar Quartet commissioned me to write them a 15-minute piece that will feature on its next Chandos CD recording. I wrote the piece in the Summer after going to a rehearsal and looking at some scores of Guitar Quartets. It was a pretty daunting task, but eventually the piece was completed. Last Sunday we all had a rehearsal togehter to work through the new commission, great fun and these guys can play!
So all that is needed now is a title for the piece, then Aquarelle record in February before the Chandos release in July. Watch out for details of a concert that they will give at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester UK, on Wednesday 30th June 2010 where they will give the World Premiere of the commission.
