Andy Scott works feature in ITEC

Several of Andy Scott’s works will be premiered or featured in ITEC, the high profile international tuba and euphonium conference in Linz, Austria, in June 2012. Organised by the International Tuba and Euphonium Association, ITEC is the leading annual showcase for the world’s greatest tuba and euphonium players, with a packed programme of solo and ensemble performances.

Belgian euphonium star Glenn Van Looy will perform The Lure of the Red Jacket (Concerto for Euphonium) with James Madison University Brass Band conducted by Kevin Stees, the university’s professor of tuba and euphonium. High profile baritone soloist Katrina Marzella will give the first performance outside the UK of Film.

There will also be world premieres of works by Andy performed by leading tuba player Les Neish and rising star of the euphonium Aaron Rivkin. Aaron, the inaugural winner of the Foden’s Band Competition, will premiere Let There Be Peace. Les Neish will give a programme consisting entirely of works by Andy, including My Mountain Top and the tuba premieres of Salt of the Earth Finale, Eighteen and Deep Blue, plus a special surprise item.
